To achieve this vision, we are building the payments infrastructure (identity, trust score and security) ground up for a world that is mobile first, where consumers frequently buy on the go & love convenience. Simpl offers Buy Now, Pay Later option on trusted merchants for consumers to complete their transaction in just 1-tap and Loyalty Rewards to help merchants retain their customers.

                                                                       

About the role:

Although over ~150mn Indians have shopped online, most have never used an online payment method either because they don’t have a CC/DC/NB/UPI instrument OR are worried about the safety of their payment information. A small percentage of consumers who own high end credit cards enjoy loyalty rewards redeemable on travel and lifestyle products but the majority who use UPI are at a disadvantage because they use up cash on hand and don’t get loyalty rewards either. Given these consumers have never experienced credit or loyalty rewards, the design team is critically responsible for making the user experience intuitive, fun to use and habit forming.              

                       

The key responsibilities of the role include:                                                                                                                                         

  • Define the user model and user interface for new and existing products and features.
  • Build deep consumer empathy to understand underlying human needs, motivations & struggles
  • Generate deep consumer insight
  • Define jobs-to-be-done by the product
  • Develop high level and/or detailed storyboards, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
  • Plan, run and synthesize qualitative & quantitative user research
  • Convert abstract product requirements into understandable story boards
  • Follow brand guidelines to ensure consistency
  • Ship fast, learn and iterate
  • Over-communicate with product/engineering about the scope, timelines and set expectations                                                     

Skills/Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial),
  • HCI, Human Factors/Ergonomics, CS, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in designing consumer products for the internet
  • Experience creating user journeys, personas, scenarios, navigational maps, flow diagrams, wireframes and prototypes
  • Must have a portfolio of past design work
