The Director of Thought Leadership and Engagement will serve as a critical member of the marketing team, responsible for driving marketing strategy among our enterprise community. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, this role will be responsible for developing and maintaining deep relationships with senior level executives through the FiscalNote Executive Institute, serving as a lead contributor of in-person and digital programing and content creation, and helping to build and reinforce the FiscalNote brand. This role will also work closely with demand generation and business development to formulate marketing strategies that drive revenue growth and retention in our enterprise segment. Finally, this role will serve as the strategic company lead for community development and serve as a resource for helping build communities throughout the organization. 
 
The position requires frequent interaction with the FiscalNote Executive Institute community and board of advisors, partners, government organizations, subject matter experts, universities, and in-house teams. The candidate must have excellent relationship building, project management, and communication skills, and the ability to to create tangible results from high-level ideas. 
 
About the Marketing Team
The Marketing Team at FiscalNote collaborates across business units to help drive sales and support the growth goals of the company using data and creativity. With a demand-generation approach, the marketing team targets high quality leads and nurtures them with compelling content and events including webinars, blogs, lunch & learns, white papers, case studies, and the like. 
 
What to Expect:
- Create thought leadership/community strategy for the FiscalNote Executive Institute that drives deep engagement and participation. 
- Develop a programming and editorial calendar that incorporates a wide range of subject matter experts, in-house experts, and partners.
- Create original content and work with outside experts on a variety of content pieces including blogs, surveys, white papers, etc.
- Share insights and learnings across the organization and report back on program success metrics. 
- Create and successfully execute a robust communications calendar.
- Partner with demand generation account-based marketing and enterprise marketing strategies; deploy campaigns as needed.
- Partner with account management and sellers to drive leads to sales to grow revenue  in enterprise accounts.
- Develop a schedule of in-person and virtual events and execute on all aspects of their success from start/schedule to completion, leveraging existing internal resources where appropriate. Lead conversations (1:1) and 1:many with senior leadership, both inside the company and across clients and prospects, across various relevant topics to gain and share insights.
- Serve as a connector and brand ambassador across the enterprise segment.
- Serve as an expert in community development and work throughout the organization to share best practices and serve as project manager, when needed.
- Provide editorial and thought leadership support, join sales/CS calls, where needed throughout the organization.
 
What Sets You Apart: 
- 7–10 years of sales, relationship management, marketing communications, and/or community development experience preferred.
- Experience managing relationships with senior level executives is required (ideally CXOs).
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop partnerships inside and outside the organization, and influence others.
- Very strong oral and verbal communication skills; must be a superb writer and editor.
- Ability to translate ideas into useful content pieces and events that drive meaningful conversations.
- Experience in hosting and leading virtual and in-person events.
- A strong understanding of the marketing funnel, and how thought leadership work fits into a larger marketing strategy.
- Experience in government affairs, external affairs or at a trade association is preferred.
- Self-starter who can take initiative and begin projects independently.
