Green Visor Capital

Management Company, LLC

Storyteller at WeFunder
San Francisco, CA, US
We've funded over 80 startups, including flying cars, space rockets, and potential Ebola cures. Every company we've funded is full of amazing stories... and their investors and fans are dying to learn about them. Your job will be to bring those stories to life, every week.

Our dream candidate
Our dream candidate is an investigative journalist at heart, with a flair for feature-length story-telling. We'd love someone who can ask the insightful and hard questions that speak to the heart. Someone who can brush aside the standard PR talking points founders often give, and dive deeper into their motivations, emotions, and struggles. We strive for authenticity, not fluff.

Our goal: help investors feel behind the curtain
Wefunder is built for investors: they are the audience for our stories. Even someone who invests as little as $100 should feel the impact they've made.

Unlike the stock market, startup investors are not simply handing over cash... they are changing lives. Their money doesn't just enrich some finance dude on Wall Street, it's directly given to the startup, to help founders follow their dreams, create jobs, and create something that adds value to the world. Investors are a part of that journey.

How can we help people live more vicariously through their investments? Feel more emotionally connected? Build a relationship? Feel more informed about the progress, and how they might be able to help? That'll be your job.

Some stuff you could be working on
Over the course of a normal week, here's some projects you could be doing:

Write a feature length story updating investors. Visit the offices of a company we've funded, such as a startup about to blast a rocket into space. You'd interview the founders/employees/customers, take photos or a short video clip, and write up an engaging story to be posted on Wefunder.
Help interview a founder about to list on Wefunder. Our President currently personally interviews each startup about to be listed on Wefunder. You'd listen in, help ask questions, and edit the transcription for brevity.
Conduct a live Q&A session with a startup actively fundraising on Wefunder. You'd help moderate questions from potential investors, interview founders, and publish a link to a podcast.
Post three or four quick startup updates. You'd monitor Facebook and Twitter feeds with the 80+ startups we've funded, and re-post any compelling updates to our investor community.
Here are the three things we consider most important:

Strong people skills. You'll be interviewing lots of startup founders; some are quite introverted. You should have a talent for making people feel instantly comfortable and willing to share.
Excellent writing. We admire engaging and authentic writing.
Responsible & accountable. Simply said: if you say you will do it, you do it.
Market-rate salaries and stock options
Unlimited vacation days (mandatory 3 weeks off)
Medical, dental, & vision insurance
All-expense paid Wefunder vacation
Apple equipment. Whatever you want.
Lots of free food and drinks
Gym or rock climbing membership
Up to $200/month Lyft or Uber
Reimbursement for classes and conferences
