Visual Designer at WeFunder

Good design is incredibly important to us. We believe beautiful software is the sum of thousands of small details, done just right.

We're looking for someone obsessed with nailing those details. Someone that will not only "make it pretty", but who will take the time to grok crowd investing, and our users who invest as little as $100.

Good design is about emotion as much as utility. You will help guard the "soul" of our product. It's an important job.

Your portfolio is eye-wateringly beautiful. You bleed minimalism and simplicity.
You have a critical eye for detail. If it's not pixel-perfect, it drives you crazy.
You can code up some CSS and HTML in a pinch and submit to a git repository. We don't expect amazing engineering skills, but believe that web designers who understand the medium are better at their jobs.
You are interested in improving your front-end coding chops.
You understand responsive design. Our entire web site is currently being redesigned to be mobile-friendly.

Lead a complete visual overhaul of our web site. Implement a consistent responsive layout, typography, colors, standard UI elements, etc. Upgrade to modern 2015 design trends (most of the site was designed in 2012).
Create beautiful mockups with Adobe Illustrator and/or Sketch for proposed features.
Work with engineers in an iterative process.

About Wefunder

We give everyone the opportunity to invest as little as $100 in startups. We've funded 75+ startups with over $10 million from accredited investors. And now we're waiting for the SEC to implement the JOBS Act, so anyone - no matter how wealthy - can invest. We’ve been preparing for that day since 2012, when we were invited by President Obama to watch the JOBS Act signed into law.

Our ambition: We aim to turbo-charge GDP growth and decrease disparity of wealth. Entrepreneurship is dying outside of SF. The percentage of under 30 year olds owning a private company has fallen from 10.6% in 1989 to 3.6% in 2014. Our goal is to bring it back to 1989 levels within 5 years. We'll democratize investing so that everyone has access to high-growth startups, not just the wealthy and well-connected. We'll also fund more legitimate businesses, from tech startups to local coffee shops.
