Green Visor Capital

Management Company, LLC

Software Engineer, Full-Stack at WeFunder
San Francisco, CA, US
We want a unicorn: a strong engineer with the flexibility to jump into almost any project. As our first engineering hire, you'll work directly with the CTO and CEO on a variety of projects. You'll have a tremendous amount of influence and the ability to make a huge impact. There's no red tape. It's a small team, and we move fast.
What we're looking for

The ambition to go the extra mile to deliver an outstanding user experience. We all do UX at Wefunder. We value UI simplification over code complexity.
A history of building cool stuff. We love engineers who talk passionately about the things they've built in the past.
Good intuition for when to seek perfection, versus compromise and ship. Inclination towards "quick hacks" to test desirability of new features, before architecting a large scalable system (and cleaning up the hacks).
A natural tendency to break large projects into smaller chunks, constantly deployed into production.
A desire to play nicely with others. Code cowboys need not apply.
An eye for details and finishing touches. Pixel-perfect implementations.
Rigor in test coverage and other best practices.
Experience architecting software so it's robust and can evolve with future needs.
Ability to deal with the chaos and ambiguity of a startup.

Some example projects

We're a full stack startup. Because of our need to control the user experience and cut costs to the bone, we're very vertically integrated. Some examples of projects you could be working on:

Our version of Balanced. We handle our own ACH and other payment transactions, due to securities regulations.
Our own version of Docusign. Our investors electronically sign investment contracts, and we didn't want the UI to suck.
Our own tax and government filing software. We automate the filing of government forms and taxes for every fundraise event, dramatically decreasing our costs compared to competitors.
Our own version of Mattermark. We'll have thousands of companies fundraising on Wefunder, and we'll need algorithms to identify and curate the best ones.
The core of Wefunder: self-service fundraising. Founders can create a beautiful profile and start fundraising in a day, and manage their investors afterwards.

About Wefunder

We give everyone the opportunity to invest as little as $100 in startups. We've funded 75+ startups with over $10 million from accredited investors. And now we're waiting for the SEC to implement the JOBS Act, so anyone - no matter how wealthy - can invest. We’ve been preparing for that day since 2012, when we were invited by President Obama to watch the JOBS Act signed into law.

Our ambition: We aim to turbo-charge GDP growth and decrease disparity of wealth. Entrepreneurship is dying outside of SF. The percentage of under 30 year olds owning a private company has fallen from 10.6% in 1989 to 3.6% in 2014. Our goal is to bring it back to 1989 levels within 5 years. We'll democratize investing so that everyone has access to high-growth startups, not just the wealthy and well-connected. We'll also fund more legitimate businesses, from tech startups to local coffee shops.
